BG2 Lighting System
The FireTech Brow Light is a purpose-built lighting solution engineered specifically for the front of a fire apparatus cab. Designed from the ground up, it is the first fixture created exclusively for this location, delivering optimized illumination without compromising driver visibility or scene safety.
Available options include integrated DOT marker lights and split circuits, allowing departments to tailor the system to their operational needs. To configure a BG2 part number, contact a FireTech team member for assistance.
Scene Light, Warning Light, Whole-Apparatus Traffic Director
Collisions involving first responder vehicles are increasing, often due to distracted drivers and warning lights that unintentionally create glare or confusion. The BG2S addresses this issue by shifting the focus from the apparatus alone to the entire incident scene.
Scene lighting provides clear illumination for responders, while dimmable warning lights are directed toward oncoming traffic to improve awareness without overwhelming drivers. Optional HAAS Alert integration extends safety beyond the roadway by broadcasting digital alerts directly to approaching motorists inside their vehicles.
Optimized Light Distribution in Real-World Scenarios
When an apparatus is positioned at an angle, the BG2S allows the incident-facing side of the vehicle to deliver maximum scene lighting, supporting safe and efficient operations. At the same time, the opposite and rear-facing sides function as a dimmable, whole-apparatus traffic director.
At the front of the apparatus, light output is directed downward rather than outward, preventing glare for drivers traveling through unaffected lanes.
Custom Mounting for Each Cab
Minimizing shadowing starts with proper fixture placement. The BG2 system uses custom-tooled aluminum extrusions matched precisely to each installation location on the apparatus body, ensuring optimal edge placement every time.
No fabrication, cutting, or guesswork is required. Select the correct extrusion, mount the track, and the apparatus is ready to return to service.
