FIRE CLOAK - XL Electric Vehicle Fire Blanket - (39' × 29.5')

Fire Cloak™ XL is built for large electric and hybrid vehicle fire containment and uses advanced high-temperature composite fabrics—FBM1290 (grey) and FBM1291R (red)—each coated on both sides with a fire-resistant silicone layer. The blanket is assembled from four grey outer panels surrounding a central red section, providing clear visual orientation for quick and correct deployment.

Six heavy-duty, fire-resistant pull handles—positioned at all four corners and mid-length along both sides—feature triple-layer reinforced anchor points for added strength. All stitching is completed with high-temperature-rated thread to withstand the severe thermal environments encountered during EV fire containment.

Thermal Runaway Fire Control

Lithium-ion battery failures in electric or hybrid vehicles can initiate thermal runaway, where a compromised cell overheats and ignites, triggering a rapid chain reaction among adjacent cells. These events generate extreme heat and are self-sustaining—making them resistant to extinguishment by water or standard firefighting agents.

The Fire Cloak™ XL supports containment by:

  • Limiting oxygen flow to the burning battery system

Deployment

The blanket can be positioned rapidly by two trained responders and is supplied in a rugged storage holdall for easy transport and ready access during emergency operations.
