Microphone Options Explained

Setcom offers two microphone types to meet different operational needs:

Boom Microphone (Recommended for Motorcycle Units)
Designed specifically for high-noise, open-air environments, the boom mic uses a noise-canceling dynamic element that focuses on your voice while reducing wind, engine, and traffic noise. This is the preferred choice for motorcycle officers, as it provides the clearest audio at speed and in outdoor conditions.

Electret Microphone
An electret mic is more sensitive and captures a wider range of sound frequencies. While excellent in quieter environments or enclosed spaces, it is more susceptible to wind and ambient noise. This option is best suited for applications where riders operate at lower speeds or in controlled noise environments.
